Dr. Joe Yocum
Meet Dr. Joe Yocum
Dr. Joe Yocum is the founder of Green Tree Animal Hospital and has been practicing veterinary medicine for well over 40 years. A graduate of the University of Kentucky and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Yocum has devoted his career to the care and well-being of animals and the families who love them.
Dr. Yocum began his career with an extensive background in equine medicine and reproduction, gaining years of experience caring for horses throughout Central Kentucky. His professional interests later expanded to include small animal medicine and surgery, and his broad experience has given him a practical and thoughtful approach to diagnosing and treating a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions.
A lifelong dog owner, Dr. Yocum has always believed that animals enrich our lives in ways that are difficult to measure. He is presently blessed with Boomer, his canine companion, who is rarely far from his side.
Family has always been an important part of Dr. Yocum’s life. He and his wife of 46 years have four children and seven grandchildren, and spending time with them remains one of his greatest pleasures.
When he is away from Green Tree, Dr. Yocum enjoys gardening, woodworking, and swimming. Whether working in his garden, building something in his workshop, or caring for a longtime patient, he appreciates the satisfaction that comes from patience, experience, and work done well.
After more than four decades in veterinary medicine, Dr. Yocum remains committed to the principles upon which he founded Green Tree Animal Hospital: compassionate, personal veterinary care combined with experience, sound medical judgment, and a genuine respect for the special bond between people and their animals.
Dr. Jack Stucky
Meet Dr. Jack Stucky
Dr. Jack Stucky is a Kentucky native and graduate of Lexington Christian Academy. He continued his education at Berry College in Georgia before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University.
Dr. Stucky brings extensive knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine to Green Tree Animal Hospital, with a particular interest in diagnostic imaging. He enjoys using imaging and other diagnostic tools to solve challenging cases and provide pet owners with a clearer understanding of their animal’s health. His professional interests also include small animal internal medicine and surgery, allowing him to care for patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical needs.
Just as important as his medical knowledge is Dr. Stucky’s kind and compassionate approach to veterinary care. He understands that pets are important members of the family and strives to treat every patient with the same patience, concern, and respect he would want for his own animals. He also believes in taking the time to listen to pet owners, answer their questions, and help them feel comfortable with decisions about their pet’s care.
Dr. Stucky’s appreciation for animals extends far beyond the veterinary hospital. He enjoys farming and spending time outdoors, particularly hiking, and is an avid reader. His own collection of animals keeps him busy at home and includes two dogs, two cats, and several horses.
Dr. Stucky combines medical knowledge and attention to detail with a genuinely compassionate and caring nature. Whether he is working through a difficult diagnostic case, performing surgery, or helping a family care for a longtime companion, his goal is to provide thoughtful, thorough, and individualized care to every patient he sees.

Meet June Bodenhamer
June Bodenhamer plays an important role behind the scenes at Green Tree Animal Hospital, managing our accounting and bookkeeping. With extensive experience and expertise in accounting, June helps keep the financial side of the hospital organized and running smoothly so the rest of our team can stay focused on caring for our patients and clients.
Although her work may keep her away from the exam rooms, June is very much an animal lover and enjoys being part of a team dedicated to the health and well-being of pets.
Outside of work, June especially enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves being outdoors and takes advantage of opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities whenever she can.
June’s experience, dependability, and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the Green Tree Animal Hospital team.

Meet Chloe Rickart
Chloe Rickart brings four years of experience in small animal medicine to the team at Green Tree Animal Hospital. A graduate of Veterinary Technology school, Chloe combines her education and hands-on experience with a genuine love for animals and the people who care for them.
Known for her kind and compassionate nature, Chloe understands that a visit to the veterinarian can sometimes be stressful for both pets and their owners. She takes the time to help each patient feel safe and comfortable while providing the attentive, individualized care they deserve.
Chloe’s love of animals extends well beyond the hospital. At home, she enjoys the company of her Boston Terrier and cat, who keep life entertaining and ensure there is never a shortage of four-legged companionship.
When she isn’t caring for patients at Green Tree, Chloe enjoys crafting and hiking. Whether she is working on a creative project or spending the day exploring a trail, she appreciates opportunities to relax and recharge.
Chloe’s veterinary training, experience, and natural compassion make her a wonderful addition to the Green Tree Animal Hospital team.
Catherine Messerly

Meet Catherine Messerly
Catherine Messerly brings eight years of veterinary medicine experience to the team at Green Tree Animal Hospital. Her background includes work in both equine and small animal medicine, giving her a broad range of experience caring for animals of all shapes and sizes.
Catherine completed her degree in Veterinary Technology, further developing the knowledge and technical skills she uses every day in caring for our patients. She is known for being hardworking, compassionate, and diligent, and she takes pride in making sure every animal receives the individual attention and care it deserves.
A true animal lover, Catherine shares her home with a Blue Heeler and a cat. Her experience with both large and small animals has given her a special appreciation for the different personalities—and occasional challenges—that come with each species.
When she isn’t caring for patients at Green Tree, Catherine enjoys spending time outdoors, especially kayaking. She also enjoys sewing, which gives her a chance to slow down and exercise her creative side.
Catherine’s combination of education, diverse veterinary experience, and genuine compassion for animals makes her a valued member of the Green Tree Animal Hospital team.

Christie Miracle

Meet Christie Miracle
With 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Christie Miracle brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and practical experience to the team at Green Tree Animal Hospital. Over the years, she has developed a particular interest and expertise in emergency medicine, where her experience and calm approach are especially valuable when pets and their families need help the most.
Christie is also our resident cat expert. A lifelong cat lover, she has a special understanding of feline behavior and enjoys working with cats of every personality—from the affectionate lap cat to the more opinionated patient who would rather be anywhere but the veterinarian! Her feline family at home includes four cats, each with a personality of their own.
Away from the hospital, Christie’s favorite thing is spending time with her family and pets. She also enjoys gardening and has a talent for restoring old furniture, giving worn and forgotten pieces a new life.
After two decades in veterinary medicine, Christie still finds great satisfaction in caring for animals and helping the people who love them. Her experience, especially with emergency patients and cats, makes her an important part of the Green Tree Animal Hospital family.

Meet Eryn Stuckwish
Eryn is one of the friendly faces you’ll see at the front desk at Green Tree Animal Hospital. With a lifelong love of animals, she enjoys welcoming our clients and their pets and helping make every visit to the hospital as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Eryn studied veterinary medicine at Eastern Kentucky University, where she was able to build on her interest in animal health and care. She enjoys being part of the Green Tree team and especially loves getting to know the many pets—and their people—who come through our doors.
Her love of animals continues at home, where she shares her life with a Schnauzer and a cat.
When she isn’t at Green Tree, Eryn loves spending time outdoors. Hiking is one of her favorite activities, and she enjoys any opportunity to get outside, explore new trails, and enjoy Kentucky’s beautiful countryside.
